The clearest way to start improving your business operations.
Most businesses that come to CoveOps know something needs to improve, but aren't sure where to begin, what's really causing it, or what to tackle first. The Biz Ops Deep Dive is how I find out: a focused, evidence-based assessment of what's happening, what's getting in the way and what's worth doing about it.
It's proportionate by design: scoped to the size and complexity of the business, and to the specific question being asked.
From £2,950 • A short, no-cost conversation to see if this is the right fit.
Three recognisable reasons to start. One proportionate process.
This doesn't mean three different products. It means the same scoped, evidence-based diagnostic approach, applied to whichever of these fits the situation.
Review the wider business
e.g. a 40-person business wanting a prioritised view of where to improve before committing to anything.
A broader look across the operation to find where the strongest opportunities sit, and what's worth tackling first.
Improve a specific process, team or area
e.g. a 30-person service business untangling handoffs between sales and delivery.
A focused, fixed-scope review of a defined issue (a workflow, a function, a recurring problem) without the cost or disruption of a full review.
Validate a proposed system, automation or AI initiative
e.g. checking whether a proposed new CRM actually solves the underlying problem before signing a contract.
An independent check that a planned investment addresses the real cause, before time and budget are committed to it.
- Typically suited to
Growing or busy SMEs experiencing disconnected systems, manual work, duplicated effort, unclear responsibilities or limited management information.
- What you receive
- A clear current-state assessment
- Prioritised findings and recommendations
- A clear call on what to keep, improve, connect or replace, not just a list of what's wrong
- Quick wins and longer-term improvements
- A practical implementation roadmap
- A review session with leadership
- What it includes
- Initial business and operational context
- Selected end-to-end workflow reviews
- Analysis of the people, systems and data behind those workflows, and where automation or AI could genuinely help
- Identification of root causes, dependencies and opportunities
- Prioritisation based on benefit, implementation effort, urgency and risk
- How the review unfolds
- An initial round of brief interviews and meetings to understand the business and map where to look
- Follow-ups where deeper information is needed, focused on specific workflows, systems or data
- Potentially a short final follow-up to confirm findings and tidy up any loose ends
- Each step is a short, sharp interaction, kept deliberately light-touch to minimise disruption to business as usual
- Commercial structure
A clearly defined, fixed-price engagement agreed before work begins, from £2,950. Typically more involved than the AI & Automation Review, which focuses on one specific opportunity area rather than the whole operation.
The review can stand alone, or lead into hands-on implementation support and a practical plan for turning findings into lasting change, depending on what the business needs and its internal capacity.
The Deep Dive isn't the only way in.
If the problem is already clear and it's time to act on it, a focused project may be more proportionate than a full diagnostic. If the business needs ongoing senior ownership rather than a one-off review, Fractional Leadership is likely the better fit. And if the question is narrowly about AI or automation, with repeatable work and a sponsor already in place, the AI & Automation Review is a faster, fixed-scope route.
Your business does not need to be broken to work better.
If growth, complexity or years of workarounds have made the business harder to run, I can help you work out what to tackle first.
